We celebrate Jesus’ triumphantly entry into Jerusalem. The Holy City of Jerusalem was crowed with those who made the annual pilgrimage. The time had come for Christ to claim his title of Messiah. It was a busy time. His entry represented victory and hope. However many in the crowd did not really understand who Christ he was and what his coming as Messiah meant.

Lent consists of the 40 days before Easter (not counting Sundays). It is a time of getting ready for the death and resurrection of Jesus. Each sermon will focus on a different aspect of Lent leading up to Easter. It is particularly a time of reflection, including Bible reading and time of prayer. The word Lent is associated with lengthening of days during this season. These next five weeks are a time to consider what changes we might want to, or need to, make in our lives before observing what Jesus did for us.
