Gratitude Challenge 2023: Day 6

Day 6: What past struggle are you thankful for?

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28

Romans 8:28 NLT

Today’s prompt invites us to reflect on the past struggles we have faced and find gratitude in those difficult moments. This may seem counterintuitive, but as Romans 8:28 reminds God can and does bring good things from life’s challenges.

We all go through challenging times in our lives, whether they be personal, professional, or spiritual. These struggles can test our faith and resilience, often pushing us to our limits. However, it’s during these challenging moments that we can learn, grow, and find unexpected blessings.

Think about a past struggle that you have faced, a time when you felt overwhelmed and uncertain. In hindsight, can you see how that difficult experience shaped you into the person you are today? Did it lead you to new opportunities, a deeper understanding of yourself, or a stronger connection with God?

For many of us, the past struggles we’ve overcome have become the stepping stones to a better future. They have taught us valuable life lessons, helped us appreciate the present, and drawn us closer to our faith. Perhaps they even revealed our inner strength and resilience that we didn’t know we possessed.

Take a moment to express your gratitude for the past struggle you’ve faced. Acknowledge the growth and blessings that have come from it. Share your story with others, as your experience may inspire and encourage those who are currently facing their own challenges. Remember that, with faith and perseverance, even the most difficult trials can ultimately lead us to a place of greater strength and wisdom.
