Advent Reflection: Adoration

Miriam-Webster defines adoration as the act of being adored. To adore is to worship or honor as the Divine.

Adoration goes beyond praise or warm fuzzy feelings. It is to worship or revere. It isn’t something we do just on Sunday mornings.

Worship flows from our hearts. Worship removes the focus from ourselves to God. It requires us to acknowledge that we aren’t in control and there is someone greater than ourselves. Worship requires us to humbly approach God with awe and amazement.

6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
7 For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today, if you hear his voice,
