Family Portraits Week 12: Joseph (New Testament)

Hi Guys,

This is our last week of our summer series Family Portraits. Can you believe that summer is almost over and school will be starting soon? I hope you have enjoyed our study as much as I have.

Bible Truth

God can use anyone who is willing and obedient.

Bible Verse

Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.

John 14:23 A NIV

Our series ends with Joseph from the New Testament. I know you are thinking this isn’t Christmas time. Just Eunice, Lois, and Jethro the Bible doesn’t say much about Joseph and are sometimes overlooked. Just like with Eunice and Lois we can learn a valuable lesson from him. Joseph listened to God and obeyed. He was willing to be a part of God’s big plan.

Select one or more of the following.

Read Mary and Joseph from the Action Bible pages 558-559.

Watch the Story of Christmas from Saddleback Kids.

In this study we learned about:

  • Ruth – God shows up and is with me.
  • Priscilla – We work together to tell others about Jesus.
  • Eunice & Lois – God gave me a family to help me grow and learn.
  • Adam – I can make good choices.
  • Noah – I can trust God to keep his promises.
  • Abraham – God has a plan for me and wants the best for me.
  • Jethro
    • We need each other.
    • Listen to good advice.
  • Job
    • God is with us in good times and bad.
    • God knows the answers to the toughest questions.
  • Joseph – God can use anyone who is willing and obedient.
  1. Take a few minutes to think about the people we have learned about. Do you have a favorite? Why?
  2. Think about the Bible truths we have learned. Which one has helped you the most? Why?
