Advent Reflection – Preparation

Christmas can be a busy time. There are decorations to put up, gifts to wrap and some event that always needs a sweet treat or other good made. Then there are event to attend and family to see. It can be so easy to get caught up in all of the stuff of Christmas that we overlook the actual meaning.

Advent is a time to prepare for Christmas. What if this year we focus use this time of preparation to focus on the meaning of Christmas. What if we

  • To make a conscious effort to take time to reflect on the meaning of Christmas not just the stuff of Christmas.
  • To reflect God’s love and not channel the Grinch.
  • To take time to enjoy family and friends.
  • To celebrate the first Christmas gift.

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
