Bible Verse
And this is what he promised us—eternal life
1 John 2:25 NIV
Focus
In week 4 God made a promise to Abraham. Do you remember what that promise was? God promised to give him a new land and make his descendants a great nation. The Israelites spent hundreds of years in Egypt. They grew in numbers. There were Israelites than Egyptians. This scared the Egyptian king and he made a lot of unfair rules and took away freedom from the Israelite. God heard their cries and sent Moses to get them out. (Week 8)
Unfortunately, the Israelites refused to obey God and didn’t trust him. So God let them wander in the desert for 40 years. (Week 9) The time has come for the Israelites to enter the promised land. Moses dies and Joshua becomes the leader.

Think
It was almost 500 years from the time God made His promise to Abraham to when the Israelites crossed the Jordan. That is a long time. God knows everything and He knows the best timing to do things. God always keeps His promises but in His timing not ours. Sometimes we may have to wait and other times we do not.
Our memory verse this week is a promise that God has made to you and I.
And this is what he promised us—eternal life
1 John 2:25 NIV
God loves us so much he wants us to live with him forever. That is cool how much He loves us.
This is a conditional promise. That means we have to do something to get it. Read John 3:16 below.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
What we have to do to get eternal life? Believe in Jesus. Is that something you have done? Got questions or want to talk, leave a comment or message me.
Keep Growing in Him.
